Oh. Lovely. Yes, so sad. But so very Sam. I've always believed Sam could be suicidal (Dean, too) given what they go through.
This passage: It wasn’t the first time that thought ever hit him, but every other time, just as he was working up more nerve, Dean would come traipsing in, and all the pieces would come together just enough to fool him. And it would be dinner, or talking about the hunt, or the search for the hunt. Trying to find John. Trying to find a way out of the deal. Trying to find a way to save seals. Trying to stop the Apocalypse. --- Very powerful. Lovely aliteration and flow.
