Since December 2011, I've made 3 trips out to LA. That's pretty much once a month the last 3 months. Thanks to my wonderful LA area S&H fan friends, I've spent a good share of that time searching the city for filming locations. I would do a fancy post with tons of pics, but I'm not good at all that fancy smancy live journaling, so I'm passing along the link to my Photobucket album containing the pics. I've tried to be as descriptive as possible on the pics when necessary. Also make sure you check out the sub album "Psychic Run" as my friends and I spent alot of time in downtown LA, searching streets and alleys, and speaking with a few long time downtown residents trying to determine the locations of all the pay phones that Hutch had to run to.

My starting point was typically imdb. However, I was extremely disappointed when looking up the location of Vic Bellamy's apartment, with the hopes of trying to go up on the roof where Starsky shoots Bellamy to save Hutch, only to find that the building has either been torn down or remodeled so drastically that it doesn't even remotely resemble the hotel in the episode. I now spend time googling and checking google earth to make sure the location looks close enough to the original to be worth my limited time in LA to seek it out.
I plan to get out again soon to find more. I'm finding it kind of like a crack addiction. There's this feeling I get when I am standing at a location and I can feel the episode. I keep wanting to feel that over and over. I'm working on my list for next trip!
Enjoy traveling the streets of Los Angeles following the footsteps of Starsky & Hutch!
