"Taking Care" [2/2], Sam/Dean, dom/sub anonymous November 24 2012, 08:36:47 UTC
After awhile he stopped trying and it might've been the best decision he'd made in his life. It was sure as hell the only one he ever got any credit for if nothin' else. The bitch who decided to key his baby after they'd saved her life from that tulpa didn't give a crap if she would have died or not. Maybe they should've let her. Dad would've been pissed.

But things were normal. Or, well, normal as could be.

He could almost tell his eyes lit up when Sammy walked through the door. A kind of dumb amusement on his face as he loosened his tie. He had a new appreciation for the way he looked in those clothes. Kind of a corporate scumbag get up, don't get it wrong, but it did carry a certain weight to it.

Dean himself, on the other hand, had stopped back about two hours prior and changed into a thin pair of gray sweats and well... not a lot else. He liked him this way. It made him vulnerable. Compared to that. Even if the effect wasn't always intentional.

He smirked at his partner in crime, “Long day at the office, sweetie?”

Hadn't been needed to clean up the rest of the mess, so he didn't bother going. Sam didn't like him getting stressed out over stupid crap he was more than capable of handling himself. Once he might've complained, but it wasn't so hard to accept after a point. Never knew how much rest he missed out on throughout the day before. It felt better like this.

“Shut up,” Sam rolled his eyes, “She claimed a rabid dingo broke into her house and stole her baby. No, really, in those words and everything. I was about ready to crack.”

“I guess that's more reasonable than 'closet monster'. I mean, dingos do eat babies. Or is that a myth? What even is a dingo?”

Sammy threw his jacket over the couch and took a seat for the first time that afternoon. Breathing a good sigh of relief at the familiar must of the hotel air and buzz of a half broken air conditioner that was supposed to be fixed about three days ago. They'd have to talk to maintenance about that. Get a refund on some of that nice jacked money in his pocket.

The elder brother grabbed the gun off the cloth of the table and headed over, dropping to his knees at the edge of the couch before handing it over, “Cleaned your gun. Or, well, all the guns, pretty much. Had some spare time.”

He didn't mind it, really. Gave him something to focus on. Plus, every time he completed these little tasks he usually had a hell of a night in store for him. Made 'em both proud.

“Well, you wouldn't have had so much free time if I hadn't took so long.”

“Heh, you know I get lonely.”

“Yeah,” Sam's voice dropped, his eyes grower darker as he licked his lower lip with some sort of revelation, “you do.”

Dean's smile fell, swallowing any smartass remarks he'd had prepared on the tip of his tongue. Suddenly hitting that he hadn't been touched all week. Not really. Not with the case and all the shit in this town.

“Have you eaten?”

“No, sir,” he shook his head, looking down to the floor. He got upset about these things sometimes, even if it wasn't always his fault the appliances in the room didn't exactly keep last night's meal cold.

Sam smiled, a warm kind of radiance he needed to prove he hadn't done anything wrong. “Let's fix that. Get dressed. We'll go out for a bit. Then we can come home and take care of you. Sound like a plan?”

“Yeah,” he bit his lip, “that's a plan.”

“Good.”

He remained on the floor as his brother left the room, hearing the shower start running. The words echoing in his head. "Take care of you." Sammy took care of him. Real good care. He could never thank him enough for that. Now he'd just have to settle on how to thank him tonight.

Losing himself in the scenarios in his head, he rested himself against the cushions. For a bit, he drifted off. The sound of the water in the background taking him away.

His heart quickened when it stopped.

He takes care of me.
