Jensen was a human omega living in a wolf pack. He was raised by a female wolf ever since a landslide killed both his parents when they took him camping in the mountains about 10 years ago. He didn't remember anything about the accident and his parents any more. He thought himself a wolf and behaved just like one.
A couple of years ago when Jensen's wolf mother died, one of his wolf brothers took him under its wings. Since then it had always protected and provided for him. The wolf was not always gentle to him. It treated him like he was its bitch and sometimes when it got violent Jensen was so scared that it was gonna hurt him. But he knew that they loved each other none the less.
When Jensen went into his first heat, his hormone affected all the unmated male wolves in the pack. They fought with each other for him and Jensen felt so relieved that it was his wolf brother who won out in the end. The winner chased all the other wolves away before it came back to claim Jensen as his bitch.
--Meanwhile--
Jared was a human alpha still searching for his mate. A couple of years ago his mating instinct led him to this area. Months later when his mate still didn't show up, he stayed and became a ranger.
One day when Jared was on his routine patrol he saw a wolf was attacking a little girl. He took out his gun and shot the wolf to save the kid. Then he found out the kid with his long hair was not a girl but a pretty little omega who was just the mate he'd been looking for ever since he graduated from college. And his mate was not hurt by the wolf but actually dazed in heat. This was definitely not the way Jared had expected to meet his mate. But after years of frustration Jared just couldn't suppress his mating urge any more. He gave up and claimed the omega then and there.
When Jared was finally sated, the omega already passed out in his arms. He began to wonder why his young mate was alone in the mountain, naked, covered in dirt and smelling like wet dogs. Then he remembered the tragic accident happened 10 years ago and the missing toddler Jensen Ackles whose body was never found and believed to be dead. He heard people talking about it from time to time but never connected the dots to his mate. Seeing the omega so skinny and much smaller than kids his age, Jared can't imagine how his mate survived and how hard life could be for a kid living alone in the mountain. He decided to take good care of his mate from now on and never let anything bad happen to him again.
When Jensen finally woke up and realized what situation he was in, he snarled, bit, scratched, elbowed and kicked, trying every way to fight Jared off like a wild animal. Then he saw the dead wolf in a pool of blood, and Jared can see shock all over his mate's face. The omega crawled towards the dead wolf despite they were still knotted, forcing Jared to go with him. He cradled the wolf's head in his arms, crying so hard that Jared felt his own heart aching for him. There was also the horrible sinking feeling in Jared's heart that he had killed someone who was very important to his mate.
Today should be his lucky day because he finally found his mate, but things turned out so much more complicated than he ever had imagined.

Another scene I've been picturing:
After Jared took Jensen back home, the wild omega was so conflicted between his hatred for the man who killed his wolf 'mate' and his urge to snuggle, taste and rub against the same guy. Sometimes he even wanted the man to knot him. But that didn't stop him from taking every chance he got to seek revenge for his wolf 'mate'. One day he finally got a chance to jump Jared, knocked the man down and wanted to bite his throat through, but his instinct stopped him from killing Jared. Jensen hated himself so much for not being able to seek revenge for his 'mate' and Jared hold the omega in his arms and let him cry all his sorrow out. Since then it became a thing between them. Every time when Jensen felt frustrated but can't speak out his feelings in words, he'll bite Jared on the throat to let the alpha know he's upset.
