Sam falls down the steps and ends up with a concussion. The concussed Sammy lets loose with the fact that he thinks Dean hates him now and doesn't love him anymore. Dean convinces him otherwise and takes care of Sam when he gets sick.

Thankfully Sam was still awake but Dean could see how glassy and unfocused his brother’s eyes were. He didn’t have to ask the usual questions to know Sam had a concussion and that his wound needed to be checked, now rather than later ( ... )

Really, he didn’t have to ask because he knew why Sam would think that. He hadn’t really done anything but point out Sam’s mistakes lately ( ... )

I had to write this prompt because I've been waiting for them to do it on the show, but they haven't. I haven't read any spoilers for season 5 but I so nervous cause I just want Dean to realize that Sam's still Sam he was just played and it turned out badly.

Awww.. this is so beautiful! Sam's confession is heartrending and the end is like a sucker punch.

Dean only wished Sam would remember their little conversation in the morning.
