Opening: Promises
If this entry is boring and/or stupid, merryish told me it could be, so you should all blame her. (She picked the challenge name, too, just in case any of you were thinking my lack of imagination was responsible.)
Luckily, even if the post is, the challenge is not. The challenge is exciting and full of...promise. In the sense that it is not only about promises, but in the sense that it could lead to fun stories. and adorable ones. and angsty ones. And that other type some of you like. What's that again? Schmoopy ones, maybe?
There's all the canon promises--Dean promising to watch out for Sammy, or to, you know, kill him if he has to. Sam promising to save Dean, and...failing. Sam promising to use his powers and...you see why I'm not worried about filling our angst portion this week?
But those are only the promises we know about! Wee!Sam must have gotten Dean and John to promise him a million things, probably in the middle of the night, just to shut him up. "Yes, Sam, of course you can have a dinosaur. In the morning, okay?" and I bet Jared is all like, "Jensen, I am absolutely never going to draw on your face again while you're sleeping. Trust me!" Bobby probably keeps promising himself he's going to do a better job of keeping the boys safe, and Sam's most definitely still swearing he's getting his own back on Lilith.
In conclusion, there's no promise too small, and no promise too big. We want to hear about them all.
