Here's a web thing that charts IMDB's episode ratings for TV shows and gives you trendlines that indicate the general upward or downward tendency of a season or the entirety of a show.

Here's Supernatural's:

Much flatter overall than I expected.

Look at all those stinker dots in Crappy Carver's seasons.

Whoa! That's really cool. (And slightly depressing...) Thanks for posting, nonnie.

Apparently, TWoP is shutting down April 4th.

I think it's kind of sad: I've had a lot of fun there over the years, and it was a great resource when watching an old show, or catching up on stuff you'd missed.

But I won't miss the SPN boards there, or the SPN recappers, or a lot of things about the way the site operated in recent years.

Dean got the mytharc! It was bound to be a sign of the TWoP apocalypse.

But that is a bit sad. I hate their Spn crowd with a passion, but I did used to read along with them when watching old, closed canons. Are they actually taking the site down, or will it remain archived but with no new additions?

As someone who had 'one word carries the tense' hammered into her brain in school the 'did/didn't used to' usage I see native speakers do is always like nails on chalkboard. Q_Q

I can't seem to find any info on that - I really hope they'll archive it, but I suppose that's still a cost, so who knows.

na

Wow! End of an era.

I do miss the fun, snarky reviews before they sold out to Bravo (?). Alias and Angel and early SPN reviews were all fun. I haven't been actively reading TWoP for a while. So what are some other clever/funny sites for reviews?

As a pre-Bravo TWOPer, I am actually kind of nostalgia-sad about this. However, most of the original TWOP team is up and running again at previously.tv, complete with forum and a daily podcast (Extra Hot Great).

Awesome, thanks! Looks like they're not actively review SPN (yet?) but I'll poke around to see reviews for some other shows.

Here's the one SPN piece they do have posted, relevant to our interests! (and sad to see now 10-12 episodes later):

Sometimes I see stuff like werefox or werepanda or werewhatever in fic and I don't really get it. Is it the same concept as werewolves, only with people transforming into other creatures under the full moon? I feel really dumb for having to ask but I kind of love the idea of shapeshifting into different creatures, I just don't know if I understand it fully.

Yep, that's what it is. Were[fill in the blank]s are subject to the same variations with regard to compulsory shifting on the full moon, silver, carrying over of animal sexual traits into human form, etc, as werewolves. Big cats and nonwolf canids are probably the most common varieties.
