There's only a mere handful of decent authors in that lot. I blame s8 spoilers. :(

minchout and salty_catfish gives me a squee, though. That concept, with a great artist? Oh, yes, PLEASE.

Otherwise, meh. Amused to see someone called deancaslover32 participating. Also IDK who hanyou_sensei is but she seems to be being unnecessarily bitchy in comments about a mistake in the list.

I have a feeling also that they meant they were doing art for #44 i.e. their own story. That's the only one that didn't get picked during art claims, so they are probably still upset about it.

All fics have been claimed and #44 was not the last one, #22 went last.

I don't think it was, I guess that's why the mods said artist TBA. My guess is they'll assign a pinch hitter for them. (I feel for them though, no getting claimed at all must suck big time)

Well, so far all the BBs I've participated in managed to match every author. Since there are just far less artists than authors, sometimes you just have to wait, as much as it sucks. I'm an artist and the last time I looked when I considered claiming a second fic, another fic was still unclaimed but that one was gone. Claiming yourself reduces your chance of being claimed to zero.
Also, SDMB mods seem to be very nice accomodating to artists that claimed two fics but not all challenge mods do that so making a second claim is never an easy decision.

There aren't all that many fics total. The percentage of authors who have done some stuff I've liked or are promising new people seems high enough to me (off the top of my head, runedgirl, selecasharp, dear_tiger, cherie_morte, downjune, glovered). I do know a bunch of authors I like who lost heart from spoilers, though, and it does sadden me to see my particular corner of fandom so diminished. I hope the start of the season contains unsuspected delights to tempt them back in before the drift becomes permanent.

I was disheartened by the spoilers but not fandom, but everyone's leaving for TW or other things and I feel really awkwardly like I'm being left for someone else. Taking it farrr too personally. Anyway, I'm glad to see there are a bunch of people who finished their drafts :]

*rolls eyes* I'm a Sam!girl and my flist is 100% of Sam!girls and we're not leaving for TW, we don't even watch the show and some of us do them we're not talking about it. Mane of us stopped being so active in this fandom a loooooong time ago and went to H50, XMFC, Suits and NCIS.

Stop with the TW melodrama.

da lol what character/ship would Sam!girls be drawn to on TW anyway? Derek aka Angel-lite and Stiles? Bleh. No replacing them with Sam/Dean for me.
