Could we talk about Dean attracting the MOTW w/o wank? anonymous October 28 2010, 06:07:32 UTC

Because Dean attacked by djinn (albeit Sam says he was attacked previously), Dean turned by vampires (to the accompaniment of intense interest in what he saw from shady!Sam), Dean hit by Veritas with a truth curse, Dean kidnapped by fairies, couldn't it be a plot point that so many things are gunning for Dean? Either in terms of a Sam and/or Campbell agenda to use Dean to gather intel, or because Dean has some as yet undisclosed role in the whole alpha business. (Though the idea of an alpha fairy is for some reason laughable.)

Maybe Dean was the King Alpha all along, like Owen in Torchwood, but with less weevils.

(I think it was because of his death? I mean it never showed up until he died so I think it had something to do with that and the way he died. The Risen Mitten was protected by the Weevils if you remember)

Oh, alright, I was being nasty. But seriously! It could be awesome. They'd be stripped off in the motel bathroom, looking in the mirror and 'pinching an inch' to see who had the worse beer gut, and then Sam would come in and casually pull off his shirt and start doing pullups from the shower rod.

Then Ianto would taser Sam in the face, and he and Dean would go out for a beer.

It's pretty obvious that the What's Wrong With Sam? plot is them building a mystery, and casting Sam as a victim is inconsistent with that. Until the What's Wrong With Sam? plot has concluded, Dean is going to be solely cast as The Protagonist.

I'm not saying I agree with this choice. I'm just saying I'm not confused by it, and I don't think there's really much to question until the Sam thing is resolved.
