Summary: A Hunter and a Slayer on a bus in the middle of nowhere.
The bus pulled up to the curb the doors opening ominously and the few people that were waiting for a bus in nowhere Arkansas began to get on some chattering among themselves others seeming ready to get the whole thing over with.
Dean Winchester grimaced walking down the crowded aisle ignoring the stares and comments that followed in his wake. He was careful choosing a seat at the back slipping in close to the window and wincing as he sat.
A warm weight settled beside him body stiff trying to make the small space between the two as big as possible without falling off the seat.
The bus began to move and once the talking resumed Dean whispered softly “I’m sorry kay.”
He turned to be pinned down with a pair of angry green eyes “You’re sorry.” Buffy Summers, Slayer and recent travel companion repeated slowly “We’re stuck in the middle of nowhere on a bus cause you lost your car and you’re sorry, did I mention the fact that we look like zombie movie rejects.”
“I didn’t loss my car.” Dean argued weakly wincing again as he saw the bruise forming under the dried blood on the right side of her face. How was he suppose to know the floor had rotted out in the abandoned house.
Buffy rolled her eyes “Fine, stolen.” and gasped as the bus shook from a pothole or whatever it was that made the ride so unpleasant.
“Are you okay?” Dean asked softly moving closer to her and she gave him a weak smile.
“I just want a warm shower.”
His arm went around her shoulders and she leaned her head on his chest her eyes closing. He pressed a kiss to her forehead ignoring the dirt “Want any company?”
She laughed peering up at him tiredly “So not the time Winchester.” She shifted leaning into him more.
He grinned “Is that a yes?” pleased to get another laugh out of her Dean turned his eyes to the passing highway outside the windows “Hey are you sure Red can find my car?”
He felt her laugh against “Nice attention span,” she muttered “yes Willow can find your car, you were the one that insisted she put a magical tracker on it.”
“Good.” Dean sighed that worry settled, it came in handy having the blond Slayer as his not so innocent buddy. She had some wickedly useful friends, and the whole Council connections had more uses than not, he had never spent so much time at high priced fancy as hell hotels in his life and was enjoying it.
Dean felt her breathing even out and moved his body so that he was laying on the window and she was laying on him. He held her up marveling at the way she could fit herself into the smallest places and let his chin rest on her head as people talked around them their voices creating a nice harmony to fall asleep to.
Their stop wasn’t for another couple of hours and it would be best to get some sleep while they can.
Maybe they could share the shower if they were well rested.
Dean let himself drift off to sleep a smile on his face with his girl in his arms. They were on a bus in the middle of nowhere but for now things were pretty damn good.
