Oh, ouch. So beautifully achy and painful. I love anytime the boys have to go to the desert, and this is wonderful. I love how Dean's state of mind and ticking clock are slowly woven into the story, and I absolutely adore the open ending, with nothing fixed but the boys a step forward nonetheless. Lovely.

Dean nods, and wishes he believed in God, so he could pray for Esme Hernandez's soul.

And that? Completely heartbreaking.

Man, poor Dean. He just can't catch a break.

So I'm reading this sitting in my house with the broken air conditioner, waiting for the landlord to come fix it. I think it made me even hotter.

Oh, and sorry, I yelled at the monitor when it ended. Damn you, Kripke!, or um, whoever!

Hee! I'm so glad the heat was palpable, though I'm sorry your A/C was broken. Thanks for reading and commenting.

They're both awkward and stiff in the glassblower's shop, surrounded by tabletops covered in tiny glass animals and delicate vases, afraid to move and send it all tumbling,

My immediate thought here was, bulls in a china shop, though, really, that would probably be more Dean than Sam, hee.

Loved the imagery in all of this, of the desert and the town. I also like that Sam says "it's gonna look like we killed her..." Oh, boys.
