This is such an intense ride through Sam's head at a very treacherous point in canon. I especially love your descriptions of what it meant to be in the Cage, and how it felt, and how Sam, as much as he could, has tried to describe this to himself as much as human faculties can manage. And the ending was unexpectedly heartening, awww. <3 :) Though I think the part that really warmed the cockles of my heart was that Sam had some spices ready to help make the dream root tea taste less awful. Damn straight, Sam! XD

Congratulations on your first SPN fic! Thank you so much for sharing it with us. :)

Oh, wow, thank you so much for this wonderful and fascinating story! I think my favorite part was the description of the Cage--the darkness that's both infinite and claustrophobic, and the way Sam's brain can only deal with it by translating it into a metal box. And the idea of a trueform angel violating the laws of physics, while Sam's body in the Cage is still bound by them, was so cool, and so perfectly conceived and described.

Poor, poor Sam, so hurt and struggling in this, but still trying to logic his way out of his problems. I liked how systematically he laid out his options and thought them through. It felt like a very Samish way of dealing with trauma. The vision/dream where he saw his soul damaged and twisted was a really powerful image, too.

I'm glad for the ray of hope in the ending. The Winchesters are usually at their best when they're working together.

Thank you again, dear author, and welcome to the fandom :D. I can't wait to find out who you are!

Wow! This is an amazing first fic!

The way you describe what is happening in Sam's head--the attempt to understand the Cage--the dialog with Lucifer--it is exquisitely horrifying and feels completely like Sam!

It's hard to say I liked this--it hurt so much to see Sam in this condition--but it is absolutely riveting!!!

What would get you to write what happens next???

Oh no, don't stop! This is so compelling to read that I want to find out what happens.

Often, when people do LSD or mushrooms, someone stays with them without doing any psychedelics. So Dean could take the dream root and either take 'shrooms or not.

Oh wow, that was intense! And interesting, with the mindbending effects of angels' true form and how Sam's human mind has to translate it.
