I love the way you link this fic across multiple chronologies and family lineages, from the photographs in Dean's room (and I especially adore that Sam recognizes they're from Jenny's box) to Cain's visitations to the fertile crescent. Really cool!
There were posters of some of Dean’s favorite bands also adorning the walls. He probably would have out grown this had he been able to do this as a teenager, but now given the chance, Dean had decorated his room the way he’d envisioned as they grew up on the road in impersonal motel rooms.
I really love this image right here. I've always felt that in some ways, despite Dean being the older brother, in some ways he never got to grow up, not having had a safe space to make mistakes in. (Er, not that Sam was exactly encouraged to experiment and become his own person, of course!) There's definitely something quite teenage in how excited he is to finally have his own space in the bunker, and I love how you've concretized that here. ♥
Such an interesting read, it really makes me want to know which direction the show is going to take.
There were some lovely details here like Dean's posters and the photos coming from the box in Jenny's house. I liked your portrayal of Demon Dean too, his humanity still present.
And I loved the idea of Cain taking his Mark back, and how he sees it as his punishment. It felt true to the Show and could be a possible solution.
