I really love your missing scene from this ep; it's one of my favorites from the season, and I'm so glad that Sam and Charlie get to have this moment here; I think on-screen, her interactions are predominantly with Dean, so it's nice to see the reverse here. I really like the way you allow Charlie to process her fear and disgust without letting her consume her--but also without glossing over the extremely traumatic, terrifying reality of what's going on around them. That levelness to her character, the preservative pragmatism, maybe, really helps Sam here, I think, and certainly it helps the reader unpack what's up with the Winchesters as Charlie does the same. Great work!

I loved this so much, thank you for filling this prompt! I thought both of the characterizations were dead on, and Charlie's boundless enthusiasm for learning new "hunting skills" (boosting cars and picking locks) was so cute. This was just what I was missing in that episode!
