Ooh - I love the idea of the YED having taken John that night, and showing up in Cold Oak as John rather than the janitor! Much as I love Fred Lehne's portrayal of the YED, I can just imagine the boys' response to finding their dad after all those years, possessed by the demon. Soooo chilling.

And yes, I do think (at least in the Winchesters' case) "all roads lead to the same destination." Poor Henry.

Hello there!

Gosh, sorry for the late reply, RL has been a mess!!

Okay, thank you muchos for the comment, I'm glad you liked my spin on Henry's little own AU tale :)

Ever since As Time Goes By, I've really, really liked the character (and the way he was played) and was really bummed that he *had* to die (even though he didn't have to die, really, so boo Show!) and the eppie felt a bit uneven in handling his character and the boys relationship to him and vice versa. But still, I really liked the eppie and all the fallout that came after. One of my season 8 faves for sure.

But yeah, "All roads..." and all that, I believe it too and I really like stories that revolve around that :)

Again, thanks for the comment!

What a wonderful weaving that was, I wasn't sure I was going to like it at the start but your Henry drew me in and his living through the gradual unravelling of the story we know was beautifully done. Kudos to you, Anon, for weaving it all back together again at the end, in such a satisfying way!

Ah it's terrible when you have too many ideas and they threaten spinning out of control, isn't it! But you did a great job with this and should definitely write more.

Sam's girl. <---- Best, most terrible thing ever.

I love the way you've reconfigured canon so entirely, only for the Campbell/Winchester family to find the same moments they cannot run away from, no matter how much it seems like they might, this time, beat the system. Really interesting read. Thank you for sharing!

Hey, you could always do an AU of your AU, where it DOES take off into something else after part 1! :DD That way you can have the best of both worlds.

Nah, I thought the Sam's girl line was PERFECT. <3

This was a wonderful take on a 'what if' story line and I like how you've used Henry to frame it.

Hello there!

Sorry for the late reply. *looks appropriately sheepish*

Thank you very much for reading and commenting.

I've loved Henry from the moment we first saw him in ATGB, something about him just clicked with me and I really like his little tragic tale and the way Gil portrayed him. I wish they could've kept him alive for a few more eppies, but alas, Show is known for it's cruelty to guest characters... *mopes*

So yeah, love the guy and once I saw this prompt about andAU where he lives, wild horses couldn't keep me away from writing about it :D

Again, thanks for the comment!

That was a great story, I loved the AU of it and the fact that Henry was granted this view because what he did showing up and helping the boys was always meant to be, not going back and being there for John but time traveling and saving the boys.

Wow, just really loved it. Thank you for sharing.

Hi.

First, thank you very very much for reading and commenting!

Second, I'm glad that you liked the story. I really love AU stories myself so getting to write one was a completely awesome and terrifying experience! But I loved every moment of it!

Early on, I really wanted to do a little flashforward version of the brothers lives had Henry lived so it all kinda just poured out of me. But it was way too long for my liking so there was a lot of cuts and cuts and rewrites and cursewords (and desperate midnight beta harassings).

After having read it now, after all these months, there are still parts that make me go "ugh." but then there are parts that make me go "hmmm." and "that's cool." so I think overall I like it just fine. Sometimes a little time apart makes things seem more clear and you don't get obsessed with one 3 line paragraph so much that you lose your sleep over it...*shifty eyes*

Again, thank you for the comment!
