Poor Sammy! Love how caring John was in this when he came in at the end. Dean will live in this failure to protect for a while, so double poor Sammy lol! I really enjoyed reading this.

Lovely fill for that little piece of canon we know nothing of :) “It's Sam. Sammy is a chubby twelve year old.” :)

I really like John in this; I still believe he's not a bad man, he does care about his sons and this shows that so well. I'm sure Dean won't let his guilt over supposedly failing Sam go any time soon, knowing him :P

It also fits so well with what we saw later on Show, where Sam tells dean he doesn't want to fight, no matter how well he's trained, because he just doesn't want to be the freak for once.

Well done! <3

Thank you! That little tidbit always intrigued me especially since Jared is far from chubby as well as Colin Ford.

Aw, poor Sam! I love that he tried so hard to be independent, but Dean and John taking care of him at the end was lovely.

Yes, Sammy's independent streak, I believe was prevalent really early but even still that young I'd feel he'd feel comforted and loved with John and Dean still taking care of him.

Aw, poor Sammy. There's that little throwaway line from the pilot that never got explored (especially since Colin Ford doesn't fit that description at all), and this was a great take on that.

Poor Dean, too. He's going to smother Sam for weeks after this, I can tell. ;)

You did a really good job showing the isolation and anxiety and feelings of self-doubt that go along with being the victim of bullies, too, author.

Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for your kind words, I wanted to make the bullying realistic as possible and show that as much as Sam, Dean and John are tough hunters they are still susceptible to real world dangers and insecurities like the rest of us out there.

My middle son is that proverbial 'chubby 12-year old' and he gets teased too, but at some point he decided to own the word and laughs about it. Doesn't bother him a bit. He's oblivious to any bullying. Amazes me because I was a chubby 12-year-old too and the teasing stung, though it usually wasn't meant in a cruel fashion.

Even though I've long since left that 12-year-old behind, this fic was kinda vindicating! Really enjoyed it. ;)

Aw sorry to bring up those memories! Sammy isn't as strong as he is on the outside sometimes but he has Dean and John backing him up 100% of the way.
