Summary: Sam and Dean receive a tip from their father, and travel to Rockford, Illinois, to investigate the haunted Roosevelt Asylum, where criminally insane patients rioted in 1964. One of the riot's victims was the chief psychiatrist Dr. Ellicott. The spirits there try to communicate rather than attack, leading the brothers to discover that the psychiatrist had been conducting cruel experiments on his patients like trepanation and other things in order to test his theory that provoking extreme anger would be therapeutic for them. The ghost of the doctor then confronts Sam, causing him to lose his sanity and try to kill his brother. Dean manages to subdue Sam and burn the doctor's corpse, stopping the spirit and returning Sam to normal. In the end, Sam answers Dean's cellphone to find their father calling them.

Interviewing the witness
Sam and Dean visit the Asylum during the day (what a feat of acrobatics!), no EMF in the south wing and arguing about Sam's powers
In a doctors office/lab (creepy), we have a suspect, time for more research
Vistiting the suspect's son for interview and Sam gets the tables turned on him
Sam learned there was a riot and people died and not all the bodies were found (that makes some unhappy spirits)
Unsuspecting victims enter the asylum and get a scare (after they split up of course)
Sam and Dean return to the asylum at night and there are ghosts everywhere (fugly), but Sam thinks they are harmless
Finding the new victims Kat then seperating to find Gavin
Dean gives Kat advise while they search before Kat gets taken by a spirit (fugly)
Trapped with a spirit (fugly), Sam wants Kat to find out what it wants, the waiting is tense
All together now, figuring out part of the puzzle and separating again to get out and find room 137

Sam finds the hidden room and trouble in the form of Dr. Ellicott
Kat and Gavin talk before Dean comes back for Kat and Gavin and gets a nasty surprise
Dean finds out Sam was tricked and goes finds him and the doctor's room
Dean finds the secret room and Sam goes mad them into a rage and shoots Dean! (good thing it's rock salt)
Samtaunts Dean and Dean offers him a real gun, Sam actually pulls the trigger!
Dean fights back, knocks Sam out and goes to hunt Dr. Ellicott
