Do I just imagine it, or is the schedule set with way less time this time around? I mean, I'm kinda sure I had posting dates in January/February in the last few years. And art was due later too? Or do I mix something up right now? Participating anyway, but curious if I just think everything is set in a shorter time frame this time or not?

You're not imagining things, anon:) We've moved the schedule forward and made it a little tighter so it doesn't interfere with all the end of year holidays anymore, just like it was in the first few years of the challenge.
Glad to hear you'll still be participating!

On twitter there was a link to the participant's list which had a link for an author sign up form. There were a bunch of authors signed up, but on here it says sign ups are open Aug 1? Also, On that form, a field for Tumblr name was marked as "required" but I don't see that in the guidelines here. Can you clarify?

Hi! I think you may have mixed up the new J2_ReverseBang with the SPN_ReverseBang (that's us;). Our sign ups are through LiveJournal and we'll open them up through a post on August 1 for both authors and artists.

Early Bird Submission Q dancing_adrift September 2 2017, 04:09:09 UTC
If we have an art piece that is 'complete' to the point where it can be understood for a prompt, but is still a bit rough around the edges... I know we can modify the piece after claims, but can we also work on refining it and then re-submit it on/before Sept. 18th, along with a second piece?

Since we're already busy logging all the artworks that are coming in, we have to say no to re-submitting a piece. It would also defy the point of having an early bird submission;)
If you want, you could add a comment about edits to the description, but there's no need if the piece is only rough around the edges. So stop fiddling, lady, and get your early bird in NOW! (I say this with love)
When you are claimed you can send your new version to your author.
