Well done, bb! Love the really original and new approach to depicting Dean's Hell, and The Snow Queen is probably my very favorite fairytale, so really lovely to see that threaded throughout this. And so very good to see Dean having some agency over his Hell, and fighting back to throw off his Hell daddy's influence much as he moved beyond John. The metaphor is so subtle and skillful…

GUHHHHH. FAIRYTALE~ I don't have the proper words for the awesomeness that is this episode. The symbolism of the ice and snow and sacrifice just kicks me in the heart. Like a really mean donkey. I see so many references to my favorite fairytales: the Snow Queen, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, gaahhhhhh. *gives up and gives you a great big smoosh-hug*

ALL OF THE FEELINGS.
Seriously, I did not know how to handle the sheer amount of brilliance in this chapter. The character development, Dean FINALLY dealing (a little) with his issues, Cas going in and dying for Dean AGAIN. ALASTAIR. and the whole locking his heart away for Sam? I WAS DYING.
THIS FIC GIVES ME MORE FEELS THAN REAL LIFE.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS HAPPEN.
THIS SHOULD BECOME PUBLISHED SO I COULD BUY IT AND KEEP IT FOREVER AND READ IT TO MY CHILDREN AT NIGHT.

Beautiful. The whole fairytale like overtone that this entire chapter has gives an amazing feel to it, despite the strong character development that it also provides. From Dean and his 'kingdom' to Alistair being his 'Dad'... there's a dark twist to the whole thing that sent chills up my spine. This chapter is amazing, beautifully done, and I seriously am impressed with this original take of Dean's nightmares and his own visage of Hell.

Also the ending, with Cas literally holding Dean's heart? That means so many things in that one simple action, and as weird as it is I do find it rather sweet.
