I am woefully, WOEFULLY behind on my reading. I'm sorry. I'm going to have to do this in parts, so here's Part 1 of Part 1. Heh. My reaction? Sensational! I nearly died with Bobby at the door and Cas's comments. OMG. Brilliant. I'm not much of a fan of coitus-interruptus because it makes me so squeegy and uncomfortable, but this time it was funny as hell.

As always your writing is damn near flawless and a sincere pleasure to experience...

You know, I'm re-reading from the beginning of the season, but I don't know... I think this, this whole part may be my favorite.

The fact that Castiel's face just there reminded him that hearbreaking moment in the 6x21, and those simple words "It is simple"... Yes I love this, and actually it may be the closer to a confession while being very IC for Dean in my opinion.

Also the sexy part is awesome too, not only because omg Bobby XD but freaking hot too AND sad, AND beautiful.

I just can't get enough of it, thank you.

Awww, that's sweet of you! Originally the plan for this was for Dean to say those three words - the real ones, I mean… so the ep was bookended by first Cas telling Dean and then Dean telling Cas. But for various reasons we had to pull this one up our schedule so it posted as #15 when I think before it was supposed to be #19. And we were sorta working up to Dean realizing some things across several eps but this one ended up posting ahead of them… and of course with a long project like this you have to pace it just so, and to have Dean say ILY this early on didn't feel right. But neither did it feel right for him to still be in total denial so: it is simple is sort of a compromise both for us in the VS, for me as the writer of this ep (I so badly wanted to have him say the real words, you have no idea!) and for Dean's characterization. It does work for me, and I'm glad it worked for you… I think the way it is written it is so clear to the reader and - in the narrative - to Cas, even if Dean might sorta be coming around to it gradually.

I don't think you understand how much I love Dean and Cas being referred to as "friends" during sex. It's just my favorite thing ever for some reason.

yes, I love that this carries through in later chapters too! There's just something about them calling each other friends while in a sexual relationship, it drives home how little is different between their relationship before and after the sex entered the equation. They always loved each other, and they still do, and they always will. It's just beautiful in a small, perfect way.

Cas said it! He really did! But, c'mon Cas, you have to have known Dean wouldn't say it back so easily. He's Dean. But his face when he's in the kitchen! He needs a hug! But you're secretly a but of a dirty bastard, aren't you? You've been hanging with these guys too long.

And Dean, anyone within a 30-foot radius of you and Cas know you're totally stupid-in-love with each other. Bobby's probably known longer than both of you.

In a bout of crazy random happenstance, during the Bobby-almost-walking-in-scene I had to stop reading like 5 times because the phone rang or my niece started crying (literally because she spilt her chocolate milk).

Stupid monsters. Stop breaking Cas. You're going to give Dean a hepaplepsy! The boy does not need more stress in his life.
