Where is Harvelle's Roadhouse?
I've seen several people refer to Harvelle's being located in Nebraska because in "No Exit," the family that walked in to the Roadhouse were wearing "Nebraska is for lovers" t-shirts. But I just don't see how this is possible because of what Sam said in "Everybody Loves a Clown."
In this episode, Sam and Dean were in Harvelle's and Sam saw a file on the killer clown. He read it, and noted that the murders were happening in Medford, Wisconsin. Sam says, "That's not far from here."
Nebraska is two states away from Wisconsin. So how could Sam be referring to Wisconsin as being "not that far from here" if he's two states away?
It makes sense to me, then, that the roadhouse is most likely in Wisconsin. Medford is in north central WI, smack dab in the middle of that part of the state.
Has there been evidence of where Harvelle's is located in any other episodes? Did they mention it in Jo's online blog?
Edit: As one of our other members pointed out, in another episode, the boys were driving to the Roadhouse and listening to a Nebraska radio station at the same time. It does seem like they are now trying very hard to get across that Harvelle's is in Nebraska. It still makes the sense-making part of my brain get all tight and uncomfortable after what Sam said, but I can accept it. The writer probably wasn't all that sure where Harvelle's was when he wrote the ep, since it was such an early episode in the season. :)
