SPN 7x05 Filming Videos
To wrap things up with my report about "Shut Up, Dr. Phil" I thought I'd share a couple of videos.
Sadly, these videos aren't the greatest, but that hasn't stopped people from watching them on youtube, even without me posting them anywhere else. lol
To catch you up on the filming that day after dark. They did a bunch of takes of the guys driving up across the street from the community center (with ambulance & police cars outside) and them running inside. Then in the same takes they'd run back outside, get into the car and drive off. This would actually be for a later scene. I remember they kept spraying down the street with water so it would look nice on camera and of course, kept pushing the smoke for atmosphere. Us fans were still on the same street corner kitty-corner across from the community center where we'd been all afternoon. Businesses on the street were closing and there we all still were, watching this show film.
Here's a video from earlier in the day where the boys were driving the car up and down the street. At this point they were driving back to their start point for filming. Oh, and the gal on the bike is actually a member of the crew being an extra. If you watch this scene in the ep you can barely see her in the shot.
Now for the real fun! Once it got dark I really couldn't take photos anymore and only snapped a few shots and videos with my point-and-shoot camera. This was the last scene we watched them film. This was the scene where the boys run to the car, get in and drive off down the street (and towards us fans on the corner). First take, everything happened and the boys drove past us. This video is of Take 2 and Jensen pulled the car right in front of us, flashing the headlights! Each subsequent take after that they would drive right up by us, often with Jared (because he was on our side of the street) talking to us. He asked us why we were out there so late and another time he said Jensen wanted to do some wheelies or something. LOL Silly boys. It was an excellent way to wrap up a very, very long day of standing around for hours on end watching them film. I am so glad we stayed to the very end! It was so worth it! It was so sweet and nice of Jensen & Jared to do that. I remember the PA with us said he heard radio chatter from the audio guy going "What are they (J2) doing? We can hear them talking to the fans!" LOL
Not the greatest video quality (I need a new little camera!), but I hope you still enjoy it.
I actually have video of my own of this moment, but it's so dark...it's awful. However, I found another video of the boys talking to us from the car.

We didn't end up leaving until sometime after 10 p.m. The boys were finished filming (they even drove past us on the way to the Circus - where their trailers were) and thanked us all for being there. It was a perfect ending to an amazingly long and exhausting day. The crew, meanwhile had one more little scene to film and then had to pack everything up and drive back into Vancouver. Extra long day and night for them!
I know how fortunate I was to have a day like this one. I'd easily do it all over again, but I also know it's unlikely that I'll ever see them filming again. But what a sweet memory I have and photographs to preserve it. :)
