I've just gotten home from a fabulous weekend. I finally got to meet some of my flist friends.. I know there were others there but there wasn't enough time to meet all.
Friday night cocktail party was a nice relaxed way to see Jim,Fred,Nicki and Chad for the first time. The candid shots were fun. When I asked Jim if I could get a picture with him, his reply "is that all you want" I told him it "was the only thing I wanted that was allowable in public," he broke up :):)
I did get to sign the Fandom Rocks shirt, which was presented to him at his Q & A , yeah!!
I had dinner with Fred Lehne. He is a sweetheart, which is a testament to his great acting ability as the YED. I can only say speaking with he and his girlfriend was like chatting with old friends..
This feeling was repeated at breakfast with Jim Beaver. My table mates, Becky, Alisa and I talked to Jim about a variety of subjects. Jim was so easy to speak with, he's open and unassuming.
The photo ops were quick, but I did get a chance to speak briefly to Jared. I was wearing a T -Shirt with my dog, Supernatural Mojo's picture, Jared asked his breed,when I said Shetland Sheepdog, he's reply "they're smart"
I said sometimes too smart, I told him there are times I have 'good' Mojo and times I have 'bad' Mojo, he laughed.
The Q and A's provided some bits of info--
Jim said that when Castiel 'put him to sleep' while he was on the floor he took a nap..,said smiling, Jensen can be boring And since there were several takes of Bobby wrestlting Sam off of Dean, he thinks they are now engaged. He was grinning when he said he got to throw water in Jensen's face 4-5 times. He did say Bobby will get to drive Metallicar.
Fred- congratulated Bobby and Sam on their engagement, said they're registered at Home Depot.
Menioned he's been acting since he was 5,his parents were involved in regional theater. None of his kids want to be actors. He has done a pilot for HBO, a 70's cop drama.
Nicki Aycox- new project is a period piece, she plays a German woman,post WWII trying to save her child. She said it's easy to beat up the boys. They've never pulled a prank on her, says she's too smart and they're afraid of her. During Meg's exorcism scene she was hungry so she had Doritos on Jared's knee and ate the chips in between takes. In order to do scenes with Jared they build ramps,so she can gradually get into the 'frame' with him.
Autograph sessions- I was able to get my scripts signed- Dead Man's Blood and No Rest for the Wicked,(which I won from Fandom Rocks, and already was signed by Kripke, et al).
Jared told me to take care of Mojo. I gave him homemade treats for Sadie and Harley, He peeked in the bag and said thanks, I was able to mention that my girl Diamond is from San Antonio and that Buddy is a rescued Sheltie.
Since he had to get to the airport by 3:30, conversations had to be brief.
I did get a nice surprise last minute surprise, I won the Team Winchester raffle, T-shirt,hat(the same style given to Kripke),season 1 DVd's, and the novels,and monster book.!!
I am looking forward to my next Con!!!
