Recap of TX Trip

Jun 24, 2007 00:43

Again, this is copied and pasted from my personal LJ. This is going to be extremally LONG! I am warning you of that now!

~ Flight there wasn't so bad. Went pretty smooth actually I think. And Sara and I had a giggling fit in the beginning of the flight, listening to the attendant talk to the people in the exit row. All we could think about was Phantom Travelor. "Yea, it is really easy to open the door if you need to!" "Christo!" It was actually kinda funny, lol.
~ As soon as we stepped foot out of the airport in Dallas, the temperature change was VERY apparent. It was so hot, until we got used to it.
~ Hotel wasn't the best, wasn't the worst though either. It was pretty good for the price we paid, and the amount of time we spent in it.
~ We were supposed to go to a dinner that a bunch of LJ people were at on Saturday night, but that didn't happen. Melissa came and picked up Sara and I, and then we went to get Riley (Riley is a guy, just so you guys know this, in case you didn't see the pictures). After getting Riley, we ended up getting lost. We got to the restaurant and everyone was already gone. We stayed and had dinner though, and chatted to get to know one another. (It was at this dinner that the waitress wrote "SPR" on Melissa and I's reciept, but we SWORE it looked like "SPN" I was like, "Uh, why did she write SPN on my reciept?" It took us a few minutes to realize what it was! LOL!
~ After dinner we headed to the Casa Manana to wait for Shar and Shannon. We were meeting there before heading to the bar that Jason Mann's was playing at. We took some pictures of the sign outside, and of the theater. We then drove around the theater a few times, to see where the stage door was and what not. Riley made a comment about, "What if we drove around the back and Jensen came walking out one of those doors?" Just after he said that, a man came walking out the back door and we all had a mini spazz session. That was until Riley said, "Don't worry! He's black!" I know it doesn't sound all that hilarious, but if you were there, and heard him say it. It was down right hysterical!!
~ After meeting up with Shar and Shannon we headed to the City Tavern. We drove back to Melissa's hotel and left the cars there. We started to walk to the Tavern, but missed the road we were supposed to turn down. We ended up WAY out of the way, so we hailed a cab. There were 6 of us though, so we needed a van. We got into the taxi, and HOLY HELL! I thought we were going to die. The man drove about 3 miles per hour, the windows were SHUT in the van, and there was no AC in it either. Now, imagine it being like 85 degrees outside, and being in a vehicle with 7 people and the windows closed up tight and no air? Yeah, HELL! When we got to the Tavern, we all nearly fell out of the cab from heat exhaustion! How sad is it, that the nighttime air outside was COOLER than the damn cab?? Anyway..
~ Jason is an awesome performer. I had seen the vids of him from Asylum, and was curious to see him live. His voice is outstanding!! I ended up getting his cd (and I love it btw!) and enjoying his set that night.
~ After spending some time at the bar, we headed back to Melissa's hotel. We said goodbye to Shar and Shannon, because they were leaving the next morning. After they left, Riley, Melissa, Sara and I attempted to make plans for the next ay. The 4 of us were seeing the show the same time (Sunday Night), so we had all day to explore and whatnot. We ended up deciding on spending the afternoon at the Dallas World Aquarium, and then heading to the Fort Worth Stock Yards just before the show.
~ Riley ended up not feeling well and skipping out on the DWA, but the girls and I had a good time anyway. After geting done with the Aquarium, we headed back to our hotels to change and get ready for the night. After we were all set, we headed over to pick up Riley and start on our way to Fort Worth.
~ We got into FW easily enough, and then had to figure out how to get to the Stock Yards. Finally we seen some signs and followed them. Eventually, you heard the 4 of us making comments such as, "Wow, this town is really cute!" "This town is what Texas should really look like!" And things of that nature. We decided to pull over and get out of the car to walk around a bit. Boy, did we feel stupid when we turned around to look down the street and there was a HUGE ass sign that said Fort Worth Stock Yards. It was pretty funny actually. We walked around taking pictures of various different things. We crossed the street and realized it was a crossroads. Melissa told Sara, Riley and I to go stand in the middle of the crossroads so she could take a picture. We did, and we got some STRANGE looks from the people watching us! :D
~ Walking down the street we seen some cowboys. Riley seen them and acted like a kid in a candy store. "OMG! Cowboys! Real cowboys! On horses!" It was HYSTERICAL!
~ After shopping a bit we stopped in a restaurant to get some dinner. Riley and Sara got drinks, while Melissa and I just got Sprite. It was funny though, because Riley shared his drink with everyone. We were passing it around the table tasting it. The dinner was awesome! After eating, we headed over to the Casa Manana for the show.
~ On the way to the theater we got to talking about Jensen's family being there to support him every night (and day shows also). And someone (I think it was Riley) made a comment about, "Wouldn't it be weird if his family was sitting near one of us?" (We were all sitting in different sections. Only Sara and I were sitting together). We were like, "What are the chances?"
~ We met up with Crystal when we got to the theater. She was at the afternoon show also, and got some pictures of Jensen from outside the stage door. She was showing them to us and telling us about things he said and did. And then we got out of the car and headed into the theater.
~ The theater was very small, and had a nice homey feeling to it. When we found our seats, we were excited about how close (awesome) they were. We had the first row in a box section, which was directly behind the section in front of the stage. Only about 9, maybe 10, rows from the front of the center of the stage. Sara and I were sitting there chatting when we seen Riley sitting down in his seat. He happened to be about 4 seats to the left of me, in the last row of the section in front of us. We said hello to him and then starting chatting amongst ourselves.
~ I told Sara that if Jensen's girlfriend Danneel was there, I really wanted to talk to her. She plays on One Tree Hill, which I watch. I wanted to talk to her about it. I was busy keeping my eyes open for her and finally noticed who was standing right in front of us. I looked at Sara and she had just realized it as well. Jensen's mother, father, and grandmother were sitting right in front of us (the last row of the section on front of us). We listened to them talking about how so many fans had come out to see him, and how they waited to meet him outside afterwards and what not. (I later heard his father talking to some of the ushers about how some of the girls were stalking him and harassing him already).
~ I completely embarassed one of the usher guys. Danneel ended up showing up about 15 minutes before the show started. She didn't know where her seat was for the night, so one of the ushers told her to sit with Jensen's parents, because there was an empty seat there. A few minutes after she sat down, Riley realized who she was. He turned to ask me about it, and I was trying to answer him without being obvious about it. The usher was standing sort of between Riley and I, and he thought I was talking to him. He walked over to hand me something, and I said, "Thanks, but that isn't what I wanted!" He looked really confused before he turned around and seen me talking to Riley. He started blushing and put his head down. He then said, "I am just going to walk away now.." before walking away. It was too funny. I have no idea what he thought I was doing, lol.
~ The show, I'll post about it afterwards, seperately.
~ During the intermission we all met up outside of the theater. We stood around talking, and Melissa and I decided that we wanted to find Danneel and talk to her. We headed back into the theater so we could see if we seen her. She wasn't at her seat yet thugh, so we stood around chatting. About 5 minutes before intermission was over, she came back. She was moving the chair to get back into her seat. I said, "I don't wanna bother her if shes sitting down.." So Melissa tapped her on the shoulder and said, "Excuse me, Danneel?" So she turned around and we said hello, and started talking about OTH. (If anyone wants to know the conversation, I will post that in another entry).
~ After we were done talking, I asked her if I could get a picture with her, and she said sure. I told her it had to be done outside the theater though, because no pictures were allowed inside. She said okay and we started to walk outside together. The lights dimmed though, indicating the end of the intermission. She said we should go back, and I could find her after the show for a picture. She seen we were sitting right behind her. I told her okay, and then we sat down. After the show though, we waited for a few minutes (outside the seating area) but then just went outside. I didn't want to feel like we were harassing her.
~ I just want to point out that Danneel is much MUCH more beautiful in person than any picture of her. She wears cute little glasses (or at least she did during the show). And she is such a nice person. She was so sweet with us. Not mean nor nasty in any way, like some people say she has been.
~ After the show we went outside to wait by the stage door. Jensen never came out though. We seen Jason (Manns) and a few others waiting outside the side door, so we think that is how he left. And I think it might have to do with the people his father was mentioning earlier in the evening, bothering him.
~ We were walking to the car after leaving the stage door and a cop came walking up beside us. He thanked us for coming out to the show, and then asked us where we drove in from. If you could have heard our reaction, you would have laughed. All 5 of us, at EXACTLY the same time, said, "pfft, drive?" He then asked where we all came from (Sara and I - NY, Melissa - Rhode Island, Riley - Cali, Crystal - Canada). He was just amazed and said something about dedication or something.
~ After the show Melissa, Riley, Crystal, Sara and I went out to eat. We had a lot of fun sitting at our table hashing out legends and ghost stories for the boys to cover on the show. Talking about what we thought about different things in the show and what not. At one point we realized that we were sitting at the table in the perfect position to form a pentagram. So what did we do? We held hands and formed one! LOL! After spending a while at Denny's we decided it was time to head back to our hotels.
~ Sara and I got dropped off first. The group of us went into our hotel so we could get at least one picture of us together. The poor hotel clerk type lady. We ended up having our own photo shoot! LOL! She had all of our cameras, and each camera has a different posed picture on it! After the pictures came the time to say bye to Riley and Crystal. They were leaving Monday afternoon, whereas the others of us were leaving Monday morning.
~ Melissa came and picked up Sara and I Monday morning and we headed to the airport. It was hard saying goodbye to her when we had to split up. We had a really great weekend, and were glad that we had met her.
~ Our flight home was unbearable!! We ended up with the very last row in the airplane. The seats were uncomfortable as hell. I had a man sitting next to me who squirmed more than a 2 yr old. I was glad when he got off in Chicago and someone else got on. The ride from Chicago to NY wasn't too bad, til we got to NY. NY was having a storm, so we got stuck in the plane an extra 90 minutes. We were very close to having to land in ALbany instead of NYC, because of low fuel. Anywho, we got home safe and sound in the end!
~ The trip was a lot of fun. I met some great people. Made some great memories as well! I am not sorry at all that I went!

The Show
I don't even know where to begin here. Jensen was just phenomenal. His acting was out of this world. The way he carried himself with the delivering of his lines. He facial expressions. His body language. It was just amazing. It was like a dream come true to get to watch someone I have been a fan of for so many years (since his time on Days of Our Lives) work, live, right in front of me. I was in complete amazement and awe almost the entire time. It was quite the experience to get to see him acting, live. I am beyond overjoyed that I was able to experience it myself!!

If you got through the entire thing, thanks for reading! If you have any questions, feel free to ask! : )
