When did you become a SPN fan: At the start of season 6. I watched all the episodes in three weeks. Do you have a preference of gen, het, slash stories: Gen. I love the closeness of the brotherly bond and feel that the romantic subtext distracts from that. Spoilerphobe? No. However, I am a very big phobe of the negative reactions. Let me know what happened. If you don't like it, don't share it with me. I don't wanna know that. I wanna enjoy the show on its own merits. What kind of hurt!Sam would you like to see in S8: I'd love to see him lose his hearing for a few episodes. If the internet was to disappear today and you only had the chance to save one fan fiction (or one author), which (who) would it be? Let's just pretend this question doesn't exist. All time favorite episode: Hell House. Anything else you want to share? I am a writer, but I write things a little....out there. "What If" is my favourite question.
I rarely read reviews anymore--even after watching the ep--unless I'm very familiar with the reviewer. I LOVE my show and don't need to read three pages of why a 'fan' is never watching the show again week after week.
Me neither. I don't like feeling exhausted or let down after watching an episode reading so many negative reactions. I just write my own review and talk amongst/speculate fellow fans and that's about it.
Like you, I love the show and don't feel like dealing with so much negativity that always comes after new episodes or spoilers or what not. I try to stay away as much as possible.
I am also a negative reaction-phobe! I love Show and while I may not love everything it does, I want to still be able to enjoy it. A lot of people on the interwebz make that very hard anymore >=(
Hee... I like "negative reaction phobe". I'm one of them. I usually avoid spoilers but I've checked them out this time. I'm pretty excited by them actually but there has been a lot of negativity around them from fans. And I get it, but I think until we actually see what they have in store for us we can't judge. They know the show and I'm sure they understand what's been making the show work for the last 7 years (even with little hiccups along the way).

I agree entirely. I love spoilers but hate people's reactions to them. Obviously this is going to be the worst season ever, judging by the purposefully vague teases for episodes that haven't aired yet. Yep, seems legit. *rolls eyes*
"Winchester Family Business" was the first SPN site i found and i could'nt believe all the negative posts there..if that is the way fans see the show then i would hate to read posts from detractors.Yikes. I love the articles there but the fan posts make me depressed and makes me feel like everyone (but me) hates the show. Am so happy to have found live journal (sighs) I don't mind some show negativity but sheesh.
Oh yes. I love WFB for the articles (I've written a few for the site myself) and I'm friends with several of the other writers on Twitter. Awesome people. It's the commenters that make things bad. Constructive criticism is one thing, spewing bile is another.
