Summary: Jensen is a knight with the order of the Knights Hospitaller. He is a good man and a good warrior for the Roman Catholic Church… as a matter of fact he had once went to monastery to be a priest before the Holy Wars and since has joined in the fighting instead and chosen another way of life through which to serve God and church. Jared is a pleasure giver. It is his sole purpose in life. He was trained from childhood in the arts of giving pleasure though each pleasure giver is kept chaste until the day that someone comes to purchase them. Pleasure givers were intended for Kings and those of noble birth, however with the Crusades more often than not, they are now purchased by Knights, be they Templar, Hospitaller or Teutonic… some pleasure givers are even being sanctioned secretly by the church itself. This said, a pleasure giver is very expensive thus leading to mostly the corrupt purchasing them. A pleasure giver does not have a name; they are taught that they are unworthy of being given a name as they are nothing more than the body they have to offer the Nobles who purchase them. They are simply called, ‘Slave’.
When Jared is first purchased he is bought by the Sir Jeffery, of the Knights Templar who’s heart is blackened with wickedness and he takes this anger and torturous nature out on Jared… nearly killing him many times. However Jeffery is free from legal punishment for his crimes against Jared for two reasons; one, Jared is only a pleasure giver with no rights of his own and two, Pope Innocent II's papal bull Omne Datum Optimum exempted the Order of Knights Templar from obedience to local laws and all authority except that of the Pope.
However, Sir Jeffery of the Knights Templar and Sir Jensen of the Knights Hospitaller go back a long way back in England and one night in a tavern in the seedy back streets of the city, Jeffery offers to trade his pleasure giver to Jensen for a bag of silver pieces and being the superstitious man that Jeffery is, the sword Jensen uses. The very sword that Jensen’s father once wielded against the Muslim Turks in battle… and won.
Warning: Angst, Physical, Mental, Sexual and Emotional Abuse, Slash, Het, Swearing, Blood, Violence, Gore, Torture, Rape and Attempted Rape (though not by either Jensen nor Jared), Schmoop, Hurt/Comfort, Underage Sex (to match the time period in which this fiction takes place), Possible Blasphemy, Self Mutilation and Character Death (though not Jared or Jensen).
Despite the warnings this is a fairy tale of sorts, complete with Knights and Battle, Swordplay, Death and Rebirth, Faith and Loyalty, Loss and Triumph, A Hero and his 'Jaresel' in distress, but above all, it is a story of Never Ending Love and how two people braved all odds to finally find happiness.
A/N: Although the English Knights would have spoken French. All the aristocracy did during this time period and English wasn't widely spoken except by the masses who spoke Old English which was more Germanic than anything, (and then they changed to Middle English with the 1066 Norman invasions and the language shifted to include a lot of bastardised French words) the Author has attempted to do the language as much justice as possible to remain true to the time period for which this fiction is set (Even though it is neither French nor Latin.) The Author extends her sincere apologies for all and any mistakes regarding the language found herein.
