Sometimes Dean reaches for the comforting weight of his amulet, but it’s not there. He forgets how it’s not around his neck anymore. He doesn’t tell Sam that he misses it and Sam never asks him about it either, so they don’t mention it. He read about amputee’s having phantom pain from the missing limb, but can there be pain from missing jewelry? He feels the pain in his heart.
He wonders what happened to his amulet. Is it in some trash dump or did it find a place around another’s neck? He’ll never know where it ended up now.
