Specific Challenge Days
Detailed Breakdown of Each Challenge Day:
Due to length I'm placing the listing and explanations behind an LJ cut.
As many of you may have noticed there are now multiple challenge days created for the community. Here is a listing of each specific day and what to expect on those days.
Monday
NEW CHALLENGE
Every Monday a new challenge will be posted to the community. The challenge/prompt is for all members to tackle at any time.
Wednesday
This challenge will be on the first Wednesday of every month. The challenges will center mainly on artwork/fanart and will be designed specifically for artists, though anyone at anytime may feel free to tackle the challenges. What will be posted on this day are challenges/prompts that target such things as sketching, graphic design, collage, designing things (like cards) and so on. If a person answers one of these challenges and has a scanner available please scan the item(s) you have created. If the challenge involves graphics then a person can simply link to the graphics if they're housed online.
This challenge will be on the second Wednesday of every month. The challenges will center mainly on fanvids and will be designed specifically for vidders, though anyone at anytime may feel free to tackle the challenges. What will be posted on this day are challenges/prompts that target such things as song choice, special effects, overlays and so on. If a person answers one of these challenges please share the vid/vids you have created with the community.
This challenge will be on the third Wednesday of every month. These challenges will target pairings in the fandom and can include ANY pairing from real person to character. What will be posted on this day are challenges/prompts that target specifically where two people met for the very first time (ie two characters first meet in a bar, two characters fell in love at the circus, etc). It's an AU challenge but I decided to create it so that people who enjoy specific pairings can have some prompts too...plus this is a fun challenge with no real rules other then to start with the general prompt: the location or the situation where these two first met. The responses can be in the form of art, vids or fic.
The last Wednesday of every month is COLLABORATION DAY. On this day members will be able to share their own ideas for prompts, tips and tricks to break out of creative blocks, favorite links and much more. It will be sort of a "community theme" day in which topics will be listed for discussions, sharing and helping others.
Friday
Every Friday will be a "free play" day in which the challenge is to create art, vids or fic from the episode being aired. Please note that the Friday challenges and responses could possibly contain spoilers and that all entries labeled as such may also contain spoilers.
On weeks when the episode is a repeat or the show itself is on hiatus this challenge will be replaced with a specific earlier episode from any season as the prompt.
Last Day of Month
On the very last day of each month I will share a tip, technique etc that I have found helpful. These particular posts will be titled "Inspire Me". My hope is that in doing this maybe I can help others through creative blocks as well.
Special Challenges
This officially will start on December 1st and run until December 25th. Each prompt will be Christmas related and there will be one prompt per day. The challenge? Try to respond to as many Christmas prompts as you are able to by December 25th.
This will officially start on February 1st and run until February 14th. Members suggest their own Valentine's Day related prompts to be answered by other members of the community. The challenge? See how many prompts you can come up with and how many prompts you can answer.
** All challenges/prompts can be answered at any time by anyone whether you're an author, vidder or artist. Once you answer a challenge/prompt please post to the community and share with us what you have created using each specific prompt you chose to tackle. As people post their works I will tag their entries providing tags for each person to help keep things organized.
For the most part this schedule will be followed for all challenges in the future. The only time a day may be missed is if I'm away on vacation and can't get to a computer to do the update or a RL crisis strikes. I will try to keep the community informed of when I'm away.
