How to Claim!

Feb 25, 2012 13:46

(Hopefully nobody panicked and thought claiming was early.)

Claiming is in a few short hours (just over three, actually!), and while those of you who have done the challenge before might know how it goes, newbies may not. SO, here we go.

info here! )

I read over the FAQs (and maybe I just completely missed it) but still have just one question.

If I don't have 3 film choices, can I just leave the other 2 blank? I understand if my film choice gets claimed by someone else first, the others are there to fall back on.

But if so, there's really nothing else I'd be in the mood for writing at the moment. Christ, I feel like I'm not even making sense.. haha. Just basically, is it cool if I only fill out the 1 film choice?

Please disregard the overwhelming stank of my n00b! :P

Yes, absolutely! You don't have to include three choices if you don't want to. :)

Also note that for first round claims you may only choose to do a fic OR art OR podfic OR fanmix for one film

So one couldn't claim a film and decide on short notice if it's gonna be graphics or fic or, uh, both?

If doing it solo, unfortunately, no. However, you can try to claim the film for the one that seems most likely for the first round, and if it's still available in the other medium when the second round of claims happen, you can claim it then! Make sense?

Also, thanks for pointing out that line, because podfic and fanmixes are supposed to go under one heading!

So, I could claim it for fic in the first go, and for art in the second? Not too worried here, it's a few years old and I'm not even sure I WILL claim, so yeah, that'd work for me. ;)

Yep, exactly! With a nearly unlimited amount of films out there, it's likely you'll be able to snag it for both. :)

Crap, I'm on my phone- the IMDb link is going to be challenging! Haha.

We have accepted people not using imdb links in the past - while we'd prefer you did, we do understand things come up! So, if possible, either include the film year, or come back later with an imdb link. :)

Kind of a weird question - I'm doing audio/podfic for this round, and there are two SPN stories that fit the movie prompt - could I record both of them for the challenge? (I have permission for one already, but haven't asked about the second)

Hmm. Well, from our point of view, it's not that different from an artist doing different pieces for a prompt, so if you want to do that, you can. Just know that they'll be linked together under the movie, rather than separately, to keep everything uniform. :)

Great, thanks! And yeah, that's what I figured - that will work just fine if I can get permission for the second one :)
