Heya folks ... We're back for Round 9 and as excited as ever for another year of exciting fanworks based on our favorite movies!
First off, we'd like to give a lovely send off to a magnificent friend. fiercelynormal was a diligent and beautiful partner these last few years and is now stepping down from moderating the challenge. In her place, we present dephigravity, who has been a regular participant in the challenge and continues to be fully dedicated to the beauty of our SPN peoples and challenges. Welcome aboard, my friend!
Now ... onto the 9th season of spn_cinema! NINE NINE! (okay, wrong show)
For those who are new to the community (or just like a refresher) ...
What is spn_cinema?
An SPN/RPF fanwork challenge, where films serve as the basis for new fanworks.
What fanworks are allowed?
Fanworks include newly created fics, art, and audio. Your fanwork(s) can be a work in progress you pick up for this challenge so long as they have not been posted elsewhere - you will be posting your piece(s) for the first time on your scheduled posting date. For the purposes of this challenge, art refers to all illustrated files, manips, graphics, videos, etc., and audio refers to both podfic and fanmixes. In general, the term fanworks is used to cover the spectrum of all mediums allowed in this challenge.
Who can participate
Any author, artist, podficcer or fanmixer can sign up. Don't have an LJ? No problem! We will be offering new options for signing up and posting your work to include folks all across Livejournal, AO3, tumblr, etc.

Claiming will open Saturday, August 11 at 10am CST ... in the meantime, your only job is to start thinking up what movie you want to work with this season! (for more information regarding claiming, check out our Round 9 claiming info post.
