Story summary: 1940s prison AU. A WWII veteran known as Dean Winchester is locked away for a horrific crime. Extreme physical and emotional suffering beset him in prison and only his fellow inmates, Gabriel and Castiel, can comfort him. The mysterious Castiel, in particular, becomes important to Dean.
Chapter summary: The moment Castiel is taken away, Dean begins to sink into a depression. During Castiel's absence, Dean butts heads with Gabriel.
