Description: Post-apocalyptic street AU: Dean Winchester will be 19 soon, he fights for a living in the street, he's got big problems with law and a humble hobby building his own invincible authority. He thinks it's not a bad life, even if it's really boring. In his spare time he fences stolen paintings in the local art gallery, where he meets Castiel. Castiel studies paleontology in the college (Dean doesn't even know the word "paleontology", nor even imagines what is it that's Castiel's doing and why) and doesn't want to have anything to do with him at first. Castiel descends from a rather wealthy family that plundered a lot during the world's devastation, and Dean is not the man of his kind. But they say everything is predeterminated. Cas denies his family's rules; he meets Dean every week in the country, and they spend as much time together as Castiel's studies and Dean's problems with law allow. But nothing in this rotten world lasts forever; Dean's perpetual problems make Castiel worry; he bickers with his family even more, and he'd got enough of that already. He asks Winchester to be more careful and to steady down. But Dean can't stand being lectured, and when he thinks in the heat of the moment that Cas doesn't care about him, he leaves town. It could have ended in the juvenile manner, if not the chance meeting in the bar 10 years after.
