I rewatched AHBL part 2 today, and found myself wondering why no one asked "Are you sure what you brought back is 100% pure" Dean? Well, I suppose technically he wasn't dead, but still, he was brought back by a rather powerful demon...Maybe Azazel left something behind, a mark on his soul/spirit/whatever. I find it slightly unnerving how bad I want to see a possessed!Dean fic inwhich he does bad, mean, naughty things to an unwilling Sammy.

But he's only unwilling at first. ;) It's been something he wanted but never really knew until then. Then he becomes Dean's love slave and they have more kinky sex and live happily (well, happy is relative) ever after. :D

my question would be: why wouldn't that get 'cleaned' out when Castiel "gripped him tight and raised him from perdition?" and i would then counter my argument with...did Castiel bring Dean back too late for him to be normal? and how good is an angel REALLY at when it comes to putting people back together...and would a story that goes in THAT direction be ok?

Sure, that idea sounds cool! There's quite a bit of wiggle room - you could argue that since Azazel was a fallen angel and not just any old demon, anything left behind would be overlooked by other angels, or at least a low level one like Cas. And/or since Dean was already broken, he can't be put back exactly the same way - he can't be completely human. Perhaps more like 90% or something - that darkness within him would always be there. What he does with it, well, that's where fic comes in. :)

I wrote this awhile ago, but it's almost exactly what you're asking for. It's post Season 3 finale. The angels fail and Dean pulls himself out of hell, but he's...different. It has the kind of Sam you're looking for too. Reluctant and horrified at first, but things kinda change. It's not wincest though. Anyway, you can find it at the link below.
