“B duck.” Faith yelled and Buffy didn’t even think just reacting as her body hit the ground and a dagger flew over her where she had been only seconds earlier to embed in the chest of one ugly ass demon out of almost a dozen they had been steadily fighting for the past 20minutes or so.

The things where hard to kill but a sharp piece of metal through the chest did work wonders and the last of the creatures fell lifeless eyes rolling back into its head.

Buffy pushed herself sharing a grin with Faith “Good job.”

“You too.” Faith grinned adrenaline coursing nicely through her body every nerve alive and singing. She remembered seeing a bar a couple of miles back and wondered if Buffy would be up for hitting it and letting out some steam.

“This job does have its perks.” Faith muttered bending down to scoop up a bright red jewel that had fallen off one of the carcasses.

“Faith No!!!” Buffy shouted but it was too late. Still she tried to get to the other Slayer in time only to be sucked into the swirling black mist that had began to encompass the darker Slayer. Buffy could hear her own screams as everything went dark around them.

Giles had told them to not touch anything.

“So what some great mystical energies have been gathering here and we have to get off our asses and take a look?” Dean demanded tapping his fingers to the beat of the silent music on his steering wheel as his baby ate up the asphalt.

“It’s what we do Dean.” Sam pointed out confused :You taught me that.”

Dean pulled up to the curb of the cemetery muttering “Yeah well since whenever have you ever listened to me, nice time to start Sammy.” He slammed out of the car making more noise than actual damage cause he wasn’t stupid.

Sam rolled his eyes and followed his brother deftly catching the flashlight and gun he threw him.

Dean slammed the trunk and took point the beam from his light scanning the moonless night. “Why can’t we ever get a case that takes us to a beach?” Something stirred in the night and he reached out to hold Sam back his eyes doing a quick scan and catching a slight movement behind a headstone.

“Stay behind me.” Dean ordered advancing softly, suddenly he was blinded by a dark light as the ground shook and when it settled Dean coughed dust covering them “Is that energy mystical enough for you Sammy?” he looked around only to see Sam peering behind the headstone.

“Hey,” he yelled and bounded over to his brother trying to pull him back only stop shocked at what he saw.

“Dean.” Sam breathed softly stunned.

“I see Sammy.” Two little girls lay unconscious in clothes too big for their small bodies. They were somewhere between four and six and one had dark hair and the other had blond. For some reason Dean didn’t think their parents weren’t out looking for them. These girls weren’t suppose to be that young.

One stirred her eyes opening chocolate orbs glancing around suspiciously. She glared at the strange men but her companion whimpered beside her and she tore her attention away from them and to the other little girl. ”B,” her small voice shook with fear “you gotta wake up.” she shook her shoulder and the other little girl’s eyes opened wide, green, and just as fearful.

Her eyes widened the fear growing and she clung to the darker haired girl.

“Hey it’s okay,” Sam said softly his voice going low and soothing as he kneeled down before them “We’re not going to hurt you.” The girl’s quieted their whimpers still looking at them in fear.

Dean sighed and with a wince knelled down beside Sam “I know your scared but we can help you. He may not look it but my geek brother here is smart and we’ll figure out how to fix this kay?” the dark haired girl giggled and the blond smiled shyly. “Now,” Dean nodded his head back ”My car’s back their and she's a beauty so if you tell me your names we’ll get you out of this place.”

Dean knew the darker haired one was going to be difficult but before she could the blond spoke up with more authority than a kid her age should have “Promise?”

“Promise.” Dean nodded solemnly.

“I’m Buffy and this is my sister Faith, there was a monster and we were fighting it and we killed it but we were bigger.” She stood up her point made when the clothes hung off her small frame. She stood before Dean her eyes studying him intently “I don’t think your a monster.”

“Sweetie,” Dean grinned “I’m a modern day knight in shining armor.” He saw the bloodied bodies of creatures he had never seen behind her and moved and stood upholding out his arms “What do you say we get out of here and take you two shopping.”

Buffy smiled brightly and flung herself into his arms. He raised the little girl easily the flashlight going into his back pocket and watched Faith and Sammy.

“I just wanna go home.” Faith muttered sadly tears filling her brown eyes. she looked up at Sam “Are you really a geek?”

“I prefer to think of myself as smarter than most.” he held out his hand and Faith took it tentatively. Over the girls heads Sam nudged his head in the direction of the dark tone the girl clutched tightly in her other hand. So tight that it was drawing blood.

Dean nodded and scanned the dark careful as he carried Buffy back to his car. They were coming out of the graveyard more vulnerable than they went in.

“You want to play with my laptop when we get there?” Sam asked Faith and she grinned nodding furiously.

Not to be outdone by his geek brother Dean asked Buffy “You wanna ride passenger seat, I might even let you drive.” he grinned when he saw the little girl smiling.

Buffy saw Faith glaring at her and gave her a cheeky grin "Don't lookat me like that I'm not the one that touched it."

Sam and Dean exchanged a look.

Oh yeah they were definitely coming out a hell of a lot more vulnerable.
