“Bloody Hell!” roared Crowley. “As if I don’t have anything better to do than to come running at the call of you wankers . . .” He stopped before his rant got going as he saw who had summoned him.
The wide-eyed brunette trembled as she stood on the other side of the summoning circle. He glanced at his feet - criminal waste of a decent pinot noir for this “protective circle,” also so amateurish a job it couldn’t stop a moronic imp.
“My dear Ms. Rosen,” he purred, dangerously curious. “What can I possibly do for you?”
She mutely held out the test stick in a shaking hand.
Crowley looked at the blue plus sign and burst out laughing. “I didn’t think the Moose had it in him! Congratulations!”
“I want my child to know its father,” she quavered.
“Oh, of course, my dear, of course!” Crowley rubbed his hands together in gleeful anticipation of how this could torment Moose and piss off Squirrel. “You just leave everything to Uncle Crowley.”
Ah, Vegas! Wonderful place, never let him down yet.
