Justine had always found swearing in French to be more expressive than English. Her mother used to scold that she sounded like a drunken sailor. When her credit card reader died on her and she couldn’t locate her manual imprinter, she took a few moments to tell it exactly what it could do with itself.
She was startled when someone cleared their throat, turning to see she had customers.
One man had the usual, politely shocked expression her cursing often provoked. If she didn’t know better, she’d say the other one almost looked a bit nostalgic.
People were weird sometimes.
