Okay, so I actually wrote it earlier in the week, but I'm posting now.

Ash sat in the barber’s chair, staring at his reflection.
“You sure you wanna do this?” the barber asked, gesturing at Ash’s long hair. “It’s a drastic change.”
“I know,” Ash agreed, “but I’m going to MIT--gotta look semiprofessional.”
“Well, all right.” The barber started up his trimmers with a whir and began at the front.
Ash considered what he was doing. He’d never really cared what people thought of him before--why start now?
“Wait! I changed my mind.”
“But...” The barber gestured at the half-finished do, now a mullet.
Ash shrugged. “I can work with it.”
