Very clever, from the red-herring historical name of the first two words to the abandon-all-hope horrible promise of the last two sentences.

Makes you wonder how many of their cases actually started that way...

Probably at least half of them. The boys don't seem to be as discrete as I figure they're hoping they are.

The shorter one, who had eyelashes Liz spent ten minutes acquiring every morning before she went to work (and she could have killed him for that), gaped at her with an amazing mouth (that she spent twenty minutes drawing attention to, also in the morning) and demanded, “what the hell is in your tub?”

That sentance just made my day - couldn't stop laughing.

Elizabeth Bathory was famous way back in the late 1500s-early 1600s for torturing and murdering hundreds of young women. One of the more infamous allegations against her was that she bathed in the blood of virgins to maintain her youth and beauty. I figured I'd co-opt her name and be silly :)
