Castiel could remember, during his first months on Earth, he and technology had a strained relationship. At first, he couldn’t understand why he would need technology. He was a cosmic being composed of light and love and energy, bigger than the Chrysler building, and fiercer than a supernova.
He could manage the Impala. She was wheels, an engine and little else. He loved her rugged simplicity. She wasn’t one of those cars that looked like they should be driven by an astronaut, not a driver.
He could never understand the purpose of a voicemail, and he was somewhat perplexed by tablets that didn’t have the ten commandments carved on them.
And laptops… well, the pizza man. That was embarrassing.
Dean had introduced Castiel to Netflix and even that held its mysteries for him.
He could never understand how orange correlated with black in a way that was new, or why a game was named after cephlapods and he really wasn’t convinced there could be any things stranger than the sights he saw alongside Sam and Dean.
But then, it clicked. He discovered the joy of technology, and finally understood how people became obsessed with it.
He got Wordle in two lines this morning.
