This was perfect! Thank you so much for taking my prompts and creating this wonderful story. You captured Sam and Dean so well. I could picture everything happening as I read your words and it was such a delight! Sam being the strong alpha, trying to do the right thing, and also giving Dean his space and what he needed even if he had no idea how to tell Sam what that was is Sam to a T. And Dean being his cranky omega self, trying to push Sam away while wanting him at the same time is just typical Dean fashion. I loved the fort/nest and the two of them resting in it until their pup decided it was time to be born. Little Avery! The idea of those two having a little girl and having no clue what to do made me giggle. Again, thank you. I loved it!

Oh, Cas, since when has Dean ever followed your directions? I can't help thinking that you're dreaming!

Wow, Ymp, that whole kissing under the mistletoe thing was very sweet. I love that Dean got into it to such an extent. I love that Dean built an actual nest, too. I just hope that he and Sam actually can retire back to an actual bedroom again once the whole birth thing is done!

Loved that Dean's nest was so strategic, and had bits of Christmas tree and lights in it! Also love Sam growling and trying to bite the doula - yep, probably a good thing they did not go to a conventional hospital. Also love how calm Castiel was about it, lol. You really nailed this trope in such a short story, well done!

I think the LARPing episode came to mind and Dean's innate sense of strategy - and they do have a very make do and mend mentality! I imagined that Sam would be very apologetic about the growling...

Haha I'm half head-canoning that Sam always growls when anybody other than him looks after Dean! Any Sam, not just the alphas *g* (I head-canon it even more for Dean though. And that could create some really awkward scenes in a Destiel-aligned story!)
