Bobby hadn’t bothered with any Christmas shenanigans since losing his wife. There didn’t seem much to be merry about. But Winchester had left his two little ‘uns with him, promising to be back soon, and Bobby wanted to give them a half-decent Christmas.
Bobby didn’t have much experience, but these two were too quiet, too solemn. They only laughed and smiled with each other.
On Christmas Eve he bundled them up warm and took them to a nearby forest to cut down a tree.
Hearing their laughter when an indignant squirrel leaped out at him was music to his ears.
