Summary: Written for Dean/Cas Secret Santa for rhiles_me. They wanted Blacksmith Dean with Prince Castiel where Dean treated Castiel like anyone else. Bonus points to me if it ended in Dean going down on Cas in the end. This is what I came up with. Castiel, youngest prince of the realm, is sent into hiding by his elder brother Gabriel once sibling rivalry within the castle gets violent. Does Gabriel know that hiding Castiel at the blacksmith's is a sure way to kill him with embaressment? Castiel is sure no one knows of his one sided love affair with the blacksmith's son who's strong back and shoulder's have wooed Castiel from afar.

Dean's hands were forged by fire. Each callous wrought with his hammer and smoothed with his file. Now Castiel found himself under their tender mercy, being shaped and molded by Dean as if he were a fine sword. Dean, the blacksmith's son, made a study in contrast when compared to Castiel, the youngest prince of the kingdom. Where Castiel was pale and soft Dean was bronze and rough. The long lean muscle Castiel had cultivated through archery and horseback riding were replaced in Dean by sinew and bulk brought on by skilled labor and strife.
