Dear verucasalt123, Happy SPN Holidays! I tried to check your boxes of Sam/Dean (obviously ♥ ), close friendship (that would be Sam & Jody here), and established relationships. I was inspired by your prompt of “Sometimes backup comes from the most unexpected places” but in the end you kind of have to squint and be open to loose interpretations to see it :) I was so bowled over by my feelings after watching the finale that I just had to write something set in the time of domestic bliss between 15.19 and 15.20 - going off something Jared said in an interview that at least 5 years pass between those two episodes. So, this has minor spoilers for “Inherit the Earth,” but none at all for “Carry On.”
