Jane sighed and stood up to stretch her lower back. Why was she always the only one who seemed to notice when the filing cabinets were getting too full and needed reorganizing? It was probably because she was the only one who ever did anything about it. She should just refuse one of these times.
The bell at the front desk chimed and she made her way out to speak to whomever it might be. This would probably at least be more interesting than the files. The County Assessor's Office got some pretty odd requests sometimes.
The two guys on the other side of the counter looked vaguely familiar, but she didn't connect the dots until one of them spoke, briefly flashing a badge that said FBI.
"Good afternoon. I'm Agent Peart, and this is Agent Lee. We need to see the property ownership records for-"
"Are you serious?" she hoped that didn't come across as too rude--she was at work after all.
"Um, yes?" He started to pull out the badge again.
"Look, I'm sorry to make you break character and all, but this is a state office. You really shouldn't be doing this here. You're lucky you're talking to me! I'm pretty sure impersonating a federal agent is a felony or something."
Both men looked alarmed. Either they were really, really deep into this scenario, or they actually thought they could get away with this kind of thing! The second was crazy, though--that really tall guy's hair totally wasn't regulation.
The one she recognized was now looking at her with narrowed eyes and she scanned her brain for a name. "You're Dean, right?" He cocked his head to one side. "Handmaiden to the Queen of Moons?"
The taller guy snorted and Dean glared at him before staring at her again for a few minutes. Finally, he made the connection, and she couldn't help feeling proud of her clearly superior costuming and role-playing skills.
"Titania the Bold?" he asked hesitantly.
She nodded. "Around here, though, it's just Jane." Yep, Plain Jane. Could anybody blame her for her interest in LARPing?
Suddenly, he seemed to get a grip on himself and was all charming smiles and politeness. "Sorry if this was upsetting. I told this guy," he gestured at the man next to him with a thumb, "it was a bad idea, but he's kind of an adrenaline junky. He likes that we might get caught some time. Crazy, right?"
If looks could kill, Dean would be dead, but he seemed to be really good at ignoring the tall guy. She had a feeling she wasn't getting the whole story, but she decided to let it go, one LARPer to another.
"You know all our information is in the public record, right? All you need to do is ask."

LOL! This was great! Very cute! Considering how often larping is making an appearance in SPN, you'd think that it might actually be easier for Sam and Dean to become FBI agents instead of continuing to use fake credentials...
