Reading, 2018
My reading has slowed down a tiny bit, as the Giro d'Italia is on and I feel compelled to sit in front of the screen in order to mostly ignore it.
I am watching through Eurosport - no other option - and most of the commentators need a good slapping. And not in a good way.
But back to business.
24. Jo Clayton, Skeen's Leap (Takes you a very old website!) via that StoryBundle, I think. Bloody good fun. Our protagonist is on an adventure through a world with a nice, rich variety of people and creatures. She collects allies, friends and followers while on her quest. It's lively and I'll read the rest of the series at some point. It's not so much for the story as the scenery and adventure along the way.
25. Lindsey Davis, Pandora's Boy, 2018. Yep, good stuff again.
26. Georgette Heyer, Behold, Here's Poison (takes you to an excerpt on what also appears to be a pleasingly pre-Facebook site). First published in 1963, I have a 1975 edition, which I may have inherited. (Why yes, I think I will describe websites on the internet this way from now on).
This is the first time I've read anything by Georgette Heyer, and it had me in stitches. She's very good.
