Annik is... in Istanbul. It's crazy, I know.

Well, hey.

I'm in Istanbul after a terrifyingly long overnight flight (i maintain that it is actually impossible to really sleep on an airplane) and several stopovers. It is amazing.
We're staying in an apartment that my mom rented last year when she stayed here and she enjoyed it so much she decided to come back. The city is really very amazing, so I could guess that anywhere you go would be very nice to stay. But anyways, a few reasons why she likes this place have become abundantly obvious:
- We have 2 floors, and a spiral staircase. The kitchen, living room, and dining room is on the top floor. Upstairs, we have two balconies. And one bathroom. The kitchen is like a thousand times better than the one we have at home, it's insane. The living room has one wall that is all windows, that overlooks part of the Eropean side of the city, and most of the Asian side. This means that sometime in the next few days, I can go to Asia and come back again in about 20 minutes, which I find endlessly amusing. It's just across the Bosphorous (which is a river), which we can also see. At night it's all sparkly and lit up with party boats and cruises. They like to party here. Here is what I see right now:

- Downstairs we have three bedrooms (my sister and I are sharing), two very large bathrooms, three more balconies, one of which i only just discovered this morning. In our room (my sister's and mine), we have a dinner table kind of thing (?), which I don't really understand the purpose of, and a couch. My brother's room has this cool bed that turns into a double bed if you want it to, or it kind of collapses into a twin bed. My mom's room is kind of plain, i guess, it's just a regular room.
- The city is amazing. You can get anything, and i mean anything, practically just stepping out on the street. Any everyone is super friendly.
- There are 16 million people here. Naturally it is a pretty cosmopolitan city.

I think it's freaking amazing. Some personal highlights of my own
- The "Everything is Wrong" store, which sells kind of vintage stuff, and these weird printed leather bags that say stuff like "Pornstar Obedience School: Because a man is a terrible thing that not should be wasted."
- A kind of upscale looking store that sells shirts that say "Mysterious Legend Team International." (The engrish here rivals japan)
- The chocolate here is better than anything I've ever tasted in my life. OMG.

I miss home a little, mostly because I miss the people and I want them to be with me to see it too; being with my family is really nice and I think that even if I was home, I would still miss my friends because most of them are elsewhere. So really if I had to be missing my friends somewhere, I am glad that it's here because it is really so amazing that a lot of the time I forget about the little things that make me homesick.
And I've only been here a day.

Anywho, that's what I've been up to. What about you??
