Style and Substance

Now, I preface this with the knowledge that I use the Albert Einstein method for fashion, modified for my own use. I really have an odd sense of what is fashionable so take any advice or rant I give it with a grain of salt.

Bearing that in mind :

I keep seeing the trend in woman's clothing to do either one of two things, first to display and expose, or second to become comfortable. I can understand both ideas, I have seen both used to create very unique and beautiful styles. What I can't fathom is when people try to mix the two and do so poorly.

I keep seeing people wearing things in a way that makes my mind stutter. The "new" peasant shirts I'm seeing popping up are a prime example of that. I have no trouble when I see the moderately provocative cut shirts. I have trouble when I see what should be a tight cut (or a cut that is meant to hold more in place to the figure, aka about mid upper breast) being worn lose with nothing to hold it. I understand that it probably is very comfortable, but why not go out in a sports bra and tanktop, you'd end up showing about the same amount of skin. Now as an admitted lover of the female form, this might come as a surprise but I'd rather not the a half Monty show every time someone bends in the slightest (double so for the people I have seen wearing this at walmart).

Now I'm not saying that these tops shouldn't be worn, in fact I know a few ways that these garments make for a wonderful addition to an outfit. A back clasp or rope tie, or some form of undershirt can go a long way in helping alleviate the problem. Really most of the shirts I see with this problem were designed with the idea of a corset or some form of restraint to be used on the lower half. When worn without it, it just strikes me as off and bellows out leaving the wearer exposed.

Course I still can't get my head around guys who wear their pants around the knee or some other minor fashion disasters (don't start me on girls who don't know how to wear clothes they are trying to wear.... I've have probably two rants on girls I've seen at clubs who don't know how to wear corsets). but that one was really bugging me, I'd love some women to tell me what you think so I can get an idea of what the hell is going through someones mind while they wear that.

That's all I've got to say on that right now.
