I met an American last night, and what a fucking letdown. I was so excited to speak American English at my pace, with full on accent and slang, and hear it back. But this cara was in Curitiba because he met a hot girl and he's been here for over two years teaching English to rich kids and his Portuguese is HORRIBLE. I mean, my Portuguese isn't good and my accent constantly fucks me, but I've been speaking for only four weeks and I speak better than him... I also have more respect for the people I'm with and don't think I'm entitled to everything because I'm American.
So Leila bummed shots off him and I spoke English with her the rest of the night... she has an awesome English-Italian accent and both of us like to throw in curse words in multiple languages.
