Oh, LJ,.... how I've missed you
I have papers to write. Thus, I'm back to LJ.

I found the mixes that Parker made for me when I was 15. They are full of cute music that I haven't heard in years. I've been listening to them and I keep being hit with elated cute feelings and bittersweet girlfriend/Guatemala pinings.
More importantly, this week Parker and I had our first completely friendly, non-judgemental conversation in years. Happy!

There have been girls lately. I've resigned myself to growing a backbone and being marginally more forward... thus far it's worked a little. There's one straight(?) girl that's made out with me a couple times after barely flirting, a barista who at least now knows that I think she's cute (she was asking...), and a girl from Con who I'm smitten about. We just talked on Messenger. 'Cause I have a backbone, yes I do...

Yesterday I went to dinner with some of the folks in my research cohort and we were talking about sex. I said something about not wanting to reinforce the easy gringa stereotype like I did last summer, but not knowing what to do about three months without sex. One of the girls whispered something like "That's what travel vibrators are for!" So I whipped out my keychain vibe in the restaurant.
I think I endeared myself to the cohort, but I don't think I should go back to that restaurant soon.
