I have an idea. The violence of the example... this demonstrates genre... which is exemplary...a "thing" is only a "thing" because it resists being taken apart, it is whole. This solvency, this skin which requires tearing to prove, is the "marker" of the genre of complete things...

thank you hunter. I needed someone to say something like that. no one I know has read derrida. and no one can help me with this essay. and derrida makes me feel crazy. and it makes me write even crazier. especially when I'm writing about boundaries. and writing. oy.

i dont know how i feel about derrida. sometimes i think he writes beautifully about junk, sometimes i think he writes junkily about beauty, and sometimes i just really feel him.
